Sara Barker: Change the setting
Sara Barker works on the boundary between sculpture, painting and drawing. She has developed a language of paint, steel, aluminium, brass and glass and a way of making which is meditative; focusing on memory, individual perception, and a blurring of line and colour.
This book is her first major monograph. It includes an essay by curator and writer Katharine Stout, and a new piece of writing by author Ali Smith. Designed in close collaboration with the artist, it offers an insight into her visual imagination.
Sara Barker is exhibiting at Ikon Gallery in September through a collaboration with Fruitmarket Gallery.
