Arefin & Arefin The graphic design of Tony Arefin accompanied the 2012 exhibition to measuring the full impact of Tony Arefin's career. Tony Arefin (1962–2000), was a graphic designer who emerged during the late 1980s as one of the most important figures in the British art world. With catalogues for Serpentine, ICA, Chisenhale Gallery and Ikon, Arefin had achieved such art world dominance by the early 1990s that design critic Rick Poynor described him as ‘single-handedly processing the print needs of the entire British art scene’.
Fiona Banner: Scroll Down And Keep Scrolling accompanied the artist's 2016 exhibition. The book focuses on informal photographs and related material from an archive spanning the last 30 years. It takes the material form of a large directory, over 800 pages long and typeset in a font designed especially for this project, titled Font. The title Scroll Down And Keep Scrolling refers to the act of looking back historically, but also to something endless. Scrolling down the page is how we read digitally; at the same time it refers to a time before books.
Who I Think I Am accompanied Ron Terada's 2010 exhibition. Terada's work involves a deadpan reproduction of texts drawn from a wide range of sources including street signage, popular music and advertising. The exhibition title and selection of work suggests a self-portrait of sorts, but one in which the artist himself is never actually glimpsed. Includes essays by Anne Low; Hayward Gallery curator Cliff Lauson, and art historian and critic Tom McDonough.
